Margaret O’Brien creates large-scale sculptures and immersive installations that investigate physical and psychological experiences of space. This approach is not prescriptive, and embraces an experimental use of media and materials and that disturb a pre-existing or familiar relationship to the object. Within this practice, repetition is often used as a critical mechanism that undermines any fixed reading of the work by continuously presenting the possibility of an alternative.
